Ingredients
For the steak:
- 2 beef steaks (ribeye or sirloin)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
For the creamy garlic sauce:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the beef steaks on both sides with salt and pepper.
Add olive oil and butter to the skillet. Once hot, place the steaks in the pan and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steaks and set aside to rest.
In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer.
Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Simmer for another minute.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
-
Use room-temperature steak to ensure even cooking.
-
Sear in cast iron for the best crust and flavor.
-
Don’t skip resting the steak—this keeps it juicy.
-
Deglazing the pan with a splash of broth or wine can add depth to your sauce.
-
Make extra sauce to use throughout the week on other proteins or pasta.
-
Store sauce separately from the steak to maintain texture during reheating.
-
For a low-carb option, pair with cauliflower mash or green beans instead of potatoes.
-
Fresh garlic is key—avoid pre-minced varieties for the best flavor.
