Cheeseburger Pie Recipe Family Friendly Bake With Burger Sauce Tips

  • Author: Lisa

Description

This family-friendly cheeseburger pie is a comforting, baked take on the classic American burger. Made with seasoned ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, and a quick Bisquick topping, it’s baked to golden perfection and finished with a creamy, tangy burger sauce for extra flavor. It’s perfect for busy weeknights, weekend gatherings, or meal prepping.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup Bisquick or all-purpose baking mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Season with salt and pepper. Drain any excess grease.

Spread the beef mixture evenly into a greased 9-inch pie dish.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.

In a separate bowl, whisk together Bisquick, milk, and eggs until smooth.

Pour the batter over the meat and cheese in the pie dish.

Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For best results, drain excess fat from the cooked beef before layering to prevent a soggy crust.

  • Let the pie rest for 5–10 minutes after baking to help it set before slicing.

  • Customize it with your favorite burger toppings: diced pickles, tomatoes, jalapeños, or crispy bacon.

  • The homemade burger sauce can be stored in the fridge for up to one week and is also great on sandwiches or as a fry dip.

  • For a freezer-friendly version, bake the pie fully, cool, and wrap it tightly before freezing. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
