Ingredients
For the filling:
- 6 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
For the crumble topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour. Toss until apples are evenly coated.
Transfer the apple mixture into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold, cubed butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
